The type you do with a foam roller.
I went to the gym today and the super-nice personal trainer taught me to roll my injured leg along a foam roller (seen to the left, under golfer).
The result: ahhh relaxation. It hurts a bunch while you're doing it, but for any runner who's ever had an IT-band problem, the after-effect (a loose IT band) is bliss.
I am buying one online right now and I highly recommend that if you run, you get one, too.
